Dr. Morag Rose is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Liverpool's Faculty of Science and Engineering, Department of Geography. She leads the Power, Space and Cultural Change Research Group and joined the university in 2018 following her PhD at the University of Sheffield. Her community development background in Greater Manchester informs her commitment to spatial justice and participatory research.
Research focuses on walking as a creative-political practice through intersectional feminist, crip, and queer lenses. Key interests include:
- Psychogeography and embodied research methods
- Urban accessibility and inclusive public space design
- Feminist geography and gendered urban experiences
- Community-led urban regeneration
- Disability justice in built environments
Recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches to fieldwork ethics, chronic illness in academia, walking methodologies, and healthcare policy. Her scholarly output bridges human geography, disability studies, and urban sociology.

- Co-investigator for AHRC-funded 'Walking Publics/Walking Arts' exploring pandemic-era walking practices

Beyond academia, she founded The Loiterers Resistance Movement (2006), chairs the Our Irwell conservation group, and will tour the UK with her book 'The Feminist Art of Walking' in 2025.
