Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanneمعرفی
Mor-Miri Mishkovsky is a Scientist at the Laboratory of Functional and Metabolic Imaging (LIFMET) within the School of Basic Sciences at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. She also serves as a Lecturer in the EDPY-ENS teaching unit under the Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs. Her work bridges advanced research in hyperpolarized magnetic resonance spectroscopy with academic instruction in biomedical imaging.
Research Interests:
- Development and application of hyperpolarized 13C and other nuclei for real-time in vivo metabolic imaging.
- Use of dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (dDNP) to study cerebral metabolism, glioblastoma, stroke, and immunometabolism.
- Innovation in radical-free hyperpolarization agents and perfusion probes using thermoresponsive hydrogels.
- Ultrafast multidimensional NMR methodologies for rapid data acquisition.
- Investigation of blood-brain barrier dynamics, TCA cycle intermediates, and metabolic fluxes in brain and muscle tissues.
Her recent publications (2020–2023) reflect a strong focus on metabolic imaging in oncology and neuroscience, particularly in glioblastoma and stroke models, using hyperpolarized glucose, lactate, and acetate. She has pioneered methods for noninvasive, real-time metabolic monitoring in both animal and human cell models, contributing significantly to understanding metabolic adaptations in disease.
Scientific Awards:
- Auto Swartz Excellence Award (2007) for PhD thesis on ultrafast multidimensional NMR.
Advising and Grants: While specific students and grants are not listed, her extensive collaborative research and leadership in methodological development suggest active involvement in mentoring PhD students and securing research funding. She is deeply embedded in EPFL’s imaging ecosystem, contributing to both technological innovation and educational outreach in advanced biomedical imaging.
Labs and Teams: She is a core member of the Laboratory of Functional and Metabolic Imaging (LIFMET) at EPFL, led by Prof. R. Gruetter, a leading group in hyperpolarized MRS and metabolic imaging. Her work involves close collaboration with physicists, chemists, and biomedical researchers across EPFL and international consortia.
