معرفی
Montserrat Arganda Bertran is a Full Professor at the University of Granada, affiliated with the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology. She holds positions in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Biology. Her research focuses on microbial systems biology, particularly in halophilic bacteria like Chromohalobacter salexigens, exploring osmoadaptation mechanisms, biostabilizer production, and metabolic engineering.
Key research interests include the regulation of ectoine synthesis, iron homeostasis, and the role of global regulators such as Fur and RpoS. She leads projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, EU frameworks, and regional grants, emphasizing biotechnological applications of extremophiles.
Her work integrates multi-omics data and constraint-based metabolic modeling to optimize bioproduction. Recent studies highlight the regulatory networks linking osmoadaptation to central metabolism and the neuroprotective potential of ectoines.
