Montse Solé is a Researcher affiliated with the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). She holds a PhD in Neurosciences from UAB (2009) and a BS in Biology from Pompeu Fabra University (2004). Her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's, with a strong emphasis on vascular mechanisms and molecular pathways. Key projects include investigating therapeutic targets in tauopathies and studying vascular adhesion proteins in neurodegeneration.
- Education: PhD in Neurosciences (UAB, 2009), BS in Biology (UPF, 2004)
Her work integrates vascular biology, molecular neuroscience, and toxicology. Recent studies explore apitoxin's effects on vascular dysfunction and the role of PATJ in stroke prognosis. She has been Principal Investigator on multiple grants from institutions like the European Regional Development Fund and Fundació La Marató de TV3.
Notable collaborations span Spain and international networks, focusing on Alzheimer's pathology, cerebrovascular dysfunction, and neuroprotective therapies. Her lab contributes to advancing biomarker discovery and therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative disorders.
