Monte Masarei

Monte Masarei is a Research Fellow at the School of Engineering, The University of Western Australia. His work focuses on ecological restoration, seed technology, and arid zone ecology, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals. He holds a Doctoral Thesis (2021) titled 'Engineering seeding mechanisms to restore the mined landscapes.' His research explores innovative seeding technologies, soil-plant interactions, and mechanical engineering solutions for environmental rehabilitation. Recent projects include the 'Australian seed scaling initiative' (2022-2025), a cooperative effort advancing precision seeding for large-scale ecological restoration.

Key research interests include seed enhancement, precision agriculture, and the development of engineered wood products from native flora like Melaleuca rhaphiophylla.
