معرفی
Monique van der Veen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences. She leads the Van der Veen group, focusing on nanoporous materials for photocatalysis, flexible electronics, and energy harvesting, and is director of the master's program in Chemical Engineering.
- University of Leuven (MEng 2006, PhD 2010)
- Postdoctoral work at University of Leuven and Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research
Her research explores metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for solar-to-fuel conversion and piezoelectric energy harvesting, combining materials synthesis with advanced optical spectroscopy. She has published extensively on MOF dynamics and functional materials.
Recent research trends highlight ultrafast spectroscopy for catalytic reaction monitoring and MOF topology engineering for enhanced charge transfer properties.
- ERC Starting Grant (2017)
- Athena Prize (NWO, 2018)
- NWO VIDI Grant (2020)
She supervises PhD students in projects related to photothermal activation of catalytic processes and plasmon-assisted CO2 conversion, while offering BSc/MSc thesis opportunities in nanoporous material applications. Her group contributes to the e-Refinery and Pro2Tech institutes.
