Monique Tschofen is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research spans Literary and Cultural Theory, Word-Image Studies, Digital Humanities, and Critical Making, with a focus on Canadian cinema and interarts practices. She co-founded the Decameron Collective, an interdisciplinary research group exploring creative methodologies anchored in care ethics.

Her work theorizes the intersection of art and philosophy, investigating how digital installations, experimental cinema, and ekphrastic poetry function as acts of theory. Recent projects include VR and web-based interactive narratives juried at international festivals. She serves as an Advisory Editor for Interfaces: Image/Texte/Langage.
