Monique Auger is a Métis PhD candidate in the Social Dimensions of Health Program at the University of Victoria, with Haudenosaunee, Nisga’a, and French ancestry. She resides on the ancestral territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples and serves as a sessional instructor in Indigenous Health at the University of Victoria and Camosun College.

- BA in First Nations Studies (University of Northern British Columbia)
Her research focuses on Métis health and wellness, emphasizing cultural continuity and community connections. She explores how Métis values, traditions, and knowledge systems can inform a prevention-oriented child welfare framework, building on her prior work with the Representative for Children and Youth.
Monique maintains strong ties with the Métis Nation of British Columbia as a researcher, citizen, and former elected youth leader. She was awarded the 2021 Alumni Scholarship, which supports her community-engaged research and knowledge mobilization efforts.
