Monika Widz

Dr. Monika Widz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Regional Geography and Tourism at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. She teaches courses including Reservation Systems in Tourism, Organization and Management of Hotels, and Customer Service in the hotel industry and travel agencies for both Tourism and Recreation and Tourism Management majors.

Her research interests focus on overtourism, functional changes in tourist areas, dynamics of international tourism, SERVPERF analyses of travel agency offers, quality in the hotel industry, and tourism development in Tunisia. She combines academic research with practical expertise as a tourism industry practitioner with experience in piloting, guiding, destination management, and reservation systems including Amadeus, MerlinX, and others.

Dr. Widz's publication record shows consistent research output with a focus on Tunisian tourism, hotel performance during the pandemic, overtourism assessment, and tourism quality measurement. Her work spans both theoretical and applied aspects of tourism geography and management.
