Prof. Monika Walczak, DSc, is a leading figure in the methodology of science and epistemology at the Department of Methodology of Science, Faculty of Philosophy, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. As Dean (2015-2020) and Vice-Dean (2013-2015) of the Faculty of Philosophy, she has shaped academic policy and research directions. A graduate in Theology (1992) and Philosophy (1994) from KUL, she earned her PhD in 2001 and habilitation in 2013, focusing on Bernard Lonergan's epistemology.

Her research spans methodology of science, contemporary epistemology (especially Anglo-Saxon traditions), interdisciplinary praxis, and cultural studies. Recent work analyzes interdisciplinarity's institutional challenges and Lonergan's theory of insight. She has authored over 50 articles and two monographs, including Insight and Cognition (2012).
Key publications address the epistemic status of interdisciplinary research, methodological integration, and science rationality. She leads the Regional Excellence Initiative grant (2019-2023) for philosophy and theology development. Awards include the Rector's 4th-degree prize for her 2006 monograph.
She has received scholarships from the Batory Foundation (2001), Boston College (2001/2002, 2010, 2013), and the Sokrates-Erasmus program (2007). A member of the Polish Academy of Sciences' Committee on Philosophical Sciences (2020-2027), she co-organized the 11th Polish Philosophical Congress (2019).
