Monika Plewko, M.A. is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Romance Linguistics within the Institute of Linguistics at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and actively contributes to research and teaching in Romance linguistics.
Her research focuses on discourse analysis, particularly in the areas of linguistic persuasion, political and social communication, and comparative Spanish-Polish studies. She has investigated how language is used to persuade in political debates, social campaigns, and religious discourse, with a special emphasis on environmental communication by Pope John Paul II.
Her recent publications reveal a consistent interest in the intersection of language and power, analyzing how linguistic tools such as personal pronouns and rhetorical strategies shape public discourse. These studies span both Spanish and Polish contexts, offering valuable cross-linguistic insights.
