Monica Stellin serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Languages and Literature at Wilfrid Laurier University's Faculty of Arts and coordinates the Italian Minor program. Her office is located in P308 of the Frank C. Peters Building (Waterloo campus), with contact via mstellin@wlu.ca or (519) 884-7369 during 9-10 a.m. office hours or by appointment.
Her academic credentials include:
- Laurea in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (English and German) from the University of Udine, Italy
- M.A. and Ph.D. in Italian Studies from the University of Toronto
Dr. Stellin's research examines Italian women writers, journalists, and activists from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century, with specialized focus on pioneer women in Canada and media representation of Italian culture. She is currently preparing a critical edition and translation of an Anglo-Italian pioneer woman's memoir documenting 1880s Canadian experiences.
As Italian Minor Coordinator, she oversees curriculum development and provides academic guidance to students pursuing Italian studies.
