Monica Mitchell is a Professor of Pediatrics and Clinical Psychology at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Her research focuses on child and family coping with chronic illness, particularly in African-American populations, and she leads community engagement initiatives addressing mental health, obesity, and school readiness. She holds a Master's (1995) and PhD (1998) in Clinical Psychology from Vanderbilt University.

Her research interests include sickle cell disease management, community-based participatory research, and health disparities.
