About Dr. Monica Chi Eaton
Dr. Monica Chi Eaton is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Redeemer University. She holds a PhD in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University (2021), an M.S.W. from the University of Toronto (2008), and a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Toronto (2006). Her research focuses on faith-inspired praxis of love, reciprocal relationships, and nonviolence within the helping professions. She also practices as a psychotherapist specializing in family work, parenting, and couples counseling.

Research Interests

Her frameworks emphasize holistic, faith-based interventions that address systemic challenges faced by social work students and practitioners.

At Redeemer University, she teaches courses such as Social Work Practice with Families and Social Work Practice with Groups and Teams. Her teaching integrates practical, faith-based methodologies derived from over a decade of clinical and academic experience.
