معرفی
Monica Bolufer Peruga is a Professor in the Faculty of Geography and History at the Universitat de València, Spain. She is affiliated with the Department of Modern and Contemporary History and the University Institute of Women's Studies (IUED). Her research is centered on gender, identity, and modern European history, particularly during the Enlightenment period.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of gender, knowledge, and historical subjectivity. She explores the construction of female identity during the 18th century, reformist ideologies, and Enlightenment thought, with a focus on the Hispanic Mediterranean world. Her work integrates gender perspectives into analyses of socioeconomic inequalities and public policies.
She is an active member of several research groups: GECOHIS (Gender, Knowledge, History and Subjectivity), GENDESPOL (Socioeconomic inequalities and public policies with a gender perspective), and MEDHISMO (The Hispanic Mediterranean during the early modern period). These affiliations reflect her interdisciplinary and socially engaged approach to historical research.
Monica Bolufer Peruga earned her PhD from the Universitat de València in 1995 with a thesis titled La construcción de la identidad femenina: reformismo e ilustración, supervised by Dr. Isabel Morant Deusa. She mentors students and contributes to academic leadership through her research group involvement and institutional affiliation with IUED. Though specific grants are not listed, her sustained research activity suggests ongoing funding and collaboration.
