Mona Zebarjadi is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Virginia. She leads the Energy Science and Nanotechnology Lab (ESNL), focusing on electron/phonon transport modeling, energy conversion systems, and heat management in electronics. Previously, she held a position at Rutgers University's Mechanical Engineering Department. Her research interests include nanoelectronics, 2D materials, and solar power innovation.
Education:
- B.S. and M.S. in Physics, Sharif University (2002/2004)
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, UC Santa Cruz (2010)
- Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT (2010–2012)
Research Highlights: Her work addresses thermoelectric power generation, thermomagnetic refrigeration, and nanocomposite materials for energy applications. Key contributions include modulation-doping strategies and thermal management in high-power devices.
