معرفی
Mona-Lisa Angell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Faculty of Education and International Studies, Oslo Metropolitan University. She also serves as Head of Studies – Area of responsibility 1, contributing to academic leadership in early childhood teacher education.
Her educational background includes a master's degree in multicultural and international education from the University College of Oslo and Akershus (2008) and a preschool teacher qualification from the University College of Oslo’s pilot program in Multicultural Preschool Teacher Education (2005). From 2020 to 2025, she was a doctoral candidate in the PhD program for Humanities, Culture, and Education Science at the University of Southeast Norway.
Angell's research is deeply interdisciplinary, combining pedagogy, art, philosophy, and politics. Her work centers on three main interests: the relations between pedagogy, difference-production, and justice; intergenerational, interspecies, and landscape relations; and methodological inquiries into research and justice. She employs critical, qualitative, and arts-based methodologies, particularly focusing on care, attention, and drawing as epistemological tools in early childhood contexts.
Her recent scholarly output demonstrates a consistent focus on parental care, observational drawing, and methodological innovation in early childhood research. Publications such as 'C(h)ords of Care' (2024) and 'Drawing Attention to the Wonders of Parental Care' (2022) reflect her commitment to rethinking care practices and pedagogical attention through artistic and philosophical lenses.
She has served as editor-in-chief of the journal Barnehagefolk (2010–2017) and is currently a co-editor of Reconceptualizing Educational Research Methodology (RERM). Her teaching experience spans institutions including the University College of Vestfold, Inland University of Applied Sciences, and OsloMet.
Angell actively disseminates her research through academic conferences and public engagement, including contributions to Morgenbladet and Aftenposten. While her advising, grant, and team affiliations are not detailed in the text, her leadership in journals and academic programs underscores her active role in the scholarly community.
