Mona Jahani

Mona Jahani serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual Art + Design at Southeastern Louisiana University.

She holds an MFA in Theatrical Design from Michigan State University, specializing in theatrical costume design.

Her research centers on Costume Design with emphasis on character analysis and visual thematic storytelling, extending into wearable art and community engagement through the lens of pop culture. Professional applications of this work include costume designs for Williamston Theatre, Columbia Center for the Performing Arts, University of South Florida, and Summer Circle Theatre.

Professor Jahani teaches Costume Design for Stage and Studio, Makeup Design for Stage and Studio, and Introduction to the Theatre using process-oriented learning methodologies that prioritize creative exploration over final products.
