Mona Arbab

Mona Arbab, MD, M.Ed., is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and a master’s in adult education from Indiana University. Her clinical expertise includes treating breast cancer patients using advanced techniques such as adaptive radiotherapy on the Ethos platform, GammaPod, and FAST-Forward regimens. As co-director of the Department’s Adaptive Training Course, she focuses on advancing radiation oncology education and training.

Her research emphasizes translational research, reducing treatment toxicities, patient-reported outcomes, and medical education. Key contributions include optimizing radiation dosimetry, adaptive therapy workflows, and integrating radiation oncology into undergraduate curricula. She has been recognized with the Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA T32 grant and honored as a top reviewer for the Red Journal (2020).

Dr. Arbab’s work spans 42+ peer-reviewed publications, covering topics like spatial displacement modeling, radiation-induced toxicity, and oncology curriculum design. She actively contributes as a reviewer for journals like Advances in Radiation Oncology and International Journal of Radiation Oncology. Her clinical leadership includes roles as Chief Resident (2021) and co-developer of adaptive radiation training programs.
