Molly Stanley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Vermont, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on the neurobiology of feeding behavior using the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism. She investigates how taste cells detect food chemicals, integrate metabolic states, and regulate feeding decisions impacting health. Her lab opened in 2022 and employs genetic tools to study neural circuits, cellular mechanisms, and molecular pathways governing food intake.
