Dr. Molly Nicodemus is an Associate Professor at the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences at Mississippi State University. She holds a PhD in Animal Science from Michigan State University, a Master of Science in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Agri-Communications from Southwest Missouri State University.

Her research focuses on Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning, particularly its applications in treating Substance Use Disorders, Anxiety, and ADHD in youth. She also investigates Equine Physiology, including gait mechanics and stress responses in horses during therapeutic interactions.
Recent publications analyze the physiological impacts of equine interaction in psychotherapy, the role of horses in emotional safety during learning, and lipidomic markers for cattle semen cryotolerance. Her work spans Animal Behavior, Human-Animal Bond, and Sustainable Livestock Management.
She has mentored graduate students including Camisha Robinson, Bronwyn Pepper, and Emma Farnlacher.
