معرفی
Molly E Ball is an Assistant Professor in the Department of American Studies within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota. Her scholarly work bridges literary analysis and cultural history, focusing on early American narratives and ideological constructions of progress, nationhood, and gender.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of literature and cultural critique, particularly in how 18th- and 19th-century American texts encode social values and national myths. She explores narrative structures that legitimize exclusionary ideologies, especially through the lens of gender and moral instruction in early U.S. fiction.
Her recent publication analyzes Susanna Rowson’s novel Reuben and Rachel, revealing how narratives of progress often mask forms of cultural and interpersonal violence. This work reflects a broader engagement with feminist literary theory, national identity formation, and the didactic functions of early American literature.
