معرفی
Dr. Mollie Duggan Edwards is a Teaching and Scholarship Lecturer in Marine Biology at Bangor University's School of Ocean Sciences. A fluent Welsh speaker, she completed her PhD entitled 'Erosional resilience of salt marshes: Bio-physical processes from patch to national scales' in June 2019.
Her research focuses on coastal ecosystems, particularly salt marsh resilience to erosion processes. She has studied patterns and changes in salt marshes across the United Kingdom, with special attention to Welsh estuaries including Glaslyn-Dwyryd, Mawddach and Dyfi. Her work examines how physical determinants like wave force, sediment type and sea level rise affect marsh vulnerability.
Dr. Duggan Edwards has published five significant research articles between 2019-2023 covering salt marsh restoration techniques, carbon storage capabilities, and resilience to tidal channel shifts. Her research integrates field observations, hydrological flume experiments, historical data analysis, photogrammetry, and remote sensing.
She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to Education and has professional experience that includes a 12-month internship with Natural Resources Wales' Intertidal and Coastal Ecosystems team, work as a project support officer for Technocamps, and secondary education experience following her acquisition of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
