معرفی
Mojgan Nejad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Forestry at Michigan State University (MSU), specializing in Green Bioproducts. She holds a PhD in Wood Science from the University of Toronto (2010) and a BS in Applied Chemistry from K.N. Toosi University of Technology (1992). Her research focuses on lignin-based bioproducts, wood coatings, and sustainable materials. She leads the Green Bioproducts Science & Engineering Lab and collaborates with industry partners like Ecotek Labs on biobased materials and mass timber applications.
Dr. Nejad's work emphasizes replacing petrochemicals with lignin-derived alternatives in adhesives, coatings, and composites. Her recent efforts include improving CLT durability through borate treatment and developing UV-stable epoxy coatings. She has presented keynote speeches on wood coatings and bioproducts at international conferences and is affiliated with MSU's College of Agriculture & Natural Resources.
Her research trends highlight lignin valorization, biobased polymers, and sustainable manufacturing. Over 50 publications span topics like lignin-polyol replacements, thermal spray coatings, and weathering performance of wood coatings. Her lab actively engages in scaling-up bio-refinery processes and exploring food waste-derived phenolics.
While no formal awards are listed, her contributions to the field are evident through her extensive publication record and industry collaborations. Ongoing projects include improving cross-laminated timber durability and advancing lignin-based formaldehyde-free adhesives.
