Mohan Venkatachalam is the R.J. Reynolds Professor of Business Administration at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa (1996) and is a Chartered Accountant from India. Prior to Duke, he was a faculty member at Stanford University and has taught courses such as Financial Accounting, Equity Valuation, and Executive Compensation. His research focuses on financial reporting, valuation, corporate governance, and the impact of accounting standards on markets and firms.
His research spans diverse topics including the real effects of accounting standards, vocal and linguistic cues in financial communication, and the role of disclosure quality in market efficiency. He has served as Editor of the Accounting Review and on editorial boards of top accounting journals.
