معرفی
Dr. Mohammed Elbaz is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University, holding dual appointments in the Department of Radiology (Feinberg School of Medicine) and the Department of Biomedical Engineering (McCormick School of Engineering). He directs the Personalized & Integrative Computational Cardiovascular Imaging (PIC-CVI) Lab, focusing on advanced MRI analysis techniques for personalized cardiovascular imaging. His expertise spans computer science, medical imaging, and fluid dynamics.
Education includes a PhD from Leiden University (2016) and postdoctoral training at institutions such as the University of Calgary and Northwestern University. His research emphasizes computational methods for quantifying cardiovascular hemodynamics, fibrosis, and disease differentiation using MRI.
Recent work highlights 4D flow MRI applications in pulmonary hypertension, deep learning models for cardiac segmentation, and novel MRI-based quantification indices for fibrosis and scar burden. His lab’s innovations aim to bridge computational science with clinical cardiology.
Key contributions include the development of the 4D RH Vcath for pulmonary hemodynamics evaluation and stochastic flow signatures for volumetric analysis. Collaborations span engineering and medical schools, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach.
