Mohammad Taleai

Mohammad Taleai is a Professor in Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Geomatics, K.N.Toosi University of Technology and an Adjunct Professor at the Geospatial Research Innovation and Development (GRID) group within the School of Built Environment, University of New South Wales (UNSW).

• Research Focus: Deep Learning & Artificial Intelligence for Geospatial Applications, Urban planning/resilience, Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), Location-Based Social Networks (LBSNs), 3D city modeling for Smart Cities, Digital Twins, and Urban Policy-Making.
• Leadership: Founder of the Iranian Center of Excellence in Geospatial Information Technology (GIT), former CEO of a GIS-focused private company, and director of the Spatial Decision Making & Smart Cities Lab.
• Collaborations: Built partnerships with University of Twente, University of Hanover, University of Berlin, University of Wuhan, and Hiroshima University for international grants and student co-supervision.
• Impact: Led over 10 funded research/industry projects, supervised PhD/MSc students (names not listed), and authored 180+ refereed papers and two books on GIS and Geo-Visualization.
