معرفی
Mohammad A. Rahman, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, College of Medicine. His research focuses on RNA processing misregulation in cancer, particularly alternative splicing (AS) and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) mechanisms.
- B.S. and M.S. from Dhaka University
- Ph.D. from Nagoya University
Rahman's work investigates how errors in AS and NMD contribute to cancer pathogenesis. His lab employs biochemistry, molecular biology, genome editing, transcriptomics, proteomics, computational biology, and antisense pharmacology to decode RNA metabolism in tumor cells. Key areas of interest include splicing factor defects, premature termination codons, and therapeutic targeting of RNA processing pathways.
Recent publications highlight his contributions to understanding spliceosome mutations in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), epigenetic drivers in leukemia, and clinical implications of splicing alterations. His interdisciplinary approach bridges fundamental RNA biology with translational cancer research.
