Mohamed Erhayem

Mohamed Erhayem is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Sebha University, where he also serves as Vice-President for Scientific Affairs and previously held roles such as Dean of the Faculty of Science and Head of the International Co-operation Office. He holds a BSc from Sebha University, MSc degrees from Sirte University and the Florida Institute of Technology, and a PhD from Florida Institute of Technology.

His research focuses on general, organic, and analytical chemistry, with specialties in nanoparticles, heavy metals, activated carbon, and thermodynamic/kinetic/isotherm processes. He is affiliated with the American Chemical Society and the Asia-Pacific Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society, and serves on the editorial board of the Asian Food Science Journal.

Notable achievements include winning multiple innovation prizes in Libya. While his advising and grant activities are not detailed here, his career spans academia and industry, including prior roles as a high school chemistry teacher and chemist at Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Co.
