Dr. Mohamed Elhamdadi is Professor of Mathematics at the University of South Florida, specializing in low-dimensional topology, knot theory, and applications to mathematical biology. He holds a PhD from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis and leads research on algebraic structures in knot theory and protein folding.
His work bridges pure mathematics with biological applications, developing novel invariants for molecular structures. Current projects include NSF-funded research on knot theory applications to biology and protein conformation analysis. He has supervised multiple PhD students and received the Simons Foundation Collaboration Grant.
