Moamer Gashoot

Dr. Moamer Gashoot is a Senior Lecturer in Design and Engineering at Bournemouth University, School of Design, Computing & Engineering, where he contributes to teaching, research, and curriculum innovation. He is based at Poole House, Talbot Campus, and has over 25 years of academic experience in design education and healthcare environment research.

Dr. Gashoot's research focuses on healing environments, hospital interior design, and the integration of cultural and spiritual elements—particularly Islamic design—in healthcare spaces. He explores how physical design impacts patient wellbeing, using CAD and simulation tools for data collection. His work bridges environmental psychology, ergonomics, and design pedagogy. He is currently developing a design model based on his PhD foundations to enhance healthcare settings.

His recent publications reflect a strong trend in both design education and healthcare interior research. Articles emphasize technology-enhanced learning, student-centered pedagogy, and the psychological impact of design in hospitals. The interdisciplinary nature of his work spans design, health, psychology, and cultural studies.
