Moïse Blanchard

Moïse Blanchard is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University's Data Science Institute (DSI), part of the 7th cohort of the DSI Postdoctoral Fellows Program. He works under the mentorship of Professors Vineet Goyal and Samory Kpotufe, focusing on statistical learning theory and algorithmic approaches for sequential learning and optimization problems. His research bridges machine learning, optimization, and decision-making under uncertainty.

Education:

• PhD in Operations Research, MIT (May 2024), affiliated with the Operations Research Center and Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS)
• BSc and MSc in Applied Mathematics, École Polytechnique (valedictorian)

Research Interests:
Dr. Blanchard specializes in statistical decision-making, machine learning, and optimization, with a focus on online learning, contextual bandits, reinforcement learning, and algorithm design. He addresses challenges in learning from unstructured data, high-dimensional statistics, and optimization under resource constraints.
