Miya Narushima is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Brock University's Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. She holds a PhD in Adult Education and Community Development from the University of Toronto and specializes in aging, health promotion, and cross-cultural studies.
Her research focuses on aging and well-being, community-based health education, lifelong learning, voluntarism, social determinants of health, and qualitative methodologies. She teaches courses in health promotion, qualitative research, social gerontology, and diversity in health contexts.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on child/adolescent mental health, pandemic impacts, and intervention effectiveness. Research employs longitudinal designs, psychometric validation, and transdiagnostic approaches across diverse populations.
