He supervises PhD candidates in environmental politics, British politics, and related fields, currently mentoring Balint Schlett's research. His publications span over a decade, covering topics like UK government climate decision-making, comparative attitudes toward climate change, and historical perspectives on British political environmentalism. Notable works include analyses of Conservative Party climate policy (2015–2022), oral histories of 1970s environmental activism, and studies of Green party electoral strategies.
Awards include the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship. His work frequently engages with valence and positional aspects of climate change as a political issue, contributing to debates on centrist party adaptation in the face of radical right challenges.
