Research Focus
Dr. Rauh’s work centers on the epidemiology and prevention of running-related injuries, with particular attention to adolescent and collegiate runners, Female Athlete Triad, bone-stress injuries in military recruits, sport specialization, and ACL injury recurrence. His laboratory integrates biomechanical assessments, longitudinal surveillance, and clinical interventions to reduce injury burden across youth and adult populations.
Publication Themes
Across more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, three dominant themes emerge: (1) surveillance and risk-factor identification for running injuries; (2) the intersection of menstrual dysfunction, energy availability, and bone health in female athletes; and (3) the influence of sport specialization on injury patterns in youth sports. Recent consensus statements and systematic reviews consolidate international evidence to guide best-practice recommendations.
