Thomas J. Kremen

Dr. Thomas J. Kremen is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He serves as a team physician for the UCLA Bruins NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics team, the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA), the South Bay Lakers (NBA G-League), USA Swimming, LA Galaxy, and LA Football Club. His research focuses on musculoskeletal injury prevention, biologic therapies for orthopedic trauma, and advancements in soft tissue-bone healing.

Dr. Kremen holds a medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA (2006) and completed a sports medicine fellowship at Duke University School of Medicine (2013) and a research fellowship at UCLA School of Medicine (2009). He is board-certified in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

• Research Focus: Sports injury prevention, biologic therapies for osteoarthritis, tendon regeneration, and imaging techniques for musculoskeletal diagnostics.

Dr. Kremen maintains active clinical practice at Santa Monica Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, with expertise in shoulder and elbow surgery, sports medicine, and physical medicine & rehabilitation. He is involved in both domestic and international medical advisory roles, including chairing USA Swimming's Sports Medicine and Science Committee.
