Mitali Ray

Mitali Ray, PhD, RN, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in the Department of Health Promotion & Development. Her research intersects biomedical sciences, social environments, and nursing through the lens of ecosocial theory, focusing on epigenomic approaches to understand chronic stress, racial disparities, and cardiovascular disease in relation to pregnancy.

• Secured funding from NIH and AHA
• Committed to inclusive research spaces for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent communities

Her scholarly emphasis includes adverse pregnancy outcomes, lifecourse approaches to cardiovascular health, and health disparities. She mentors future nurse scientists and advocates for diversity in academic research teams.
