Misty Johanson

Misty Johanson is a Professor in the School of Hospitality & Sports Business at DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business. She served as college dean through June 2020 and previously as associate dean for six years.

• Academic Degrees: PhD, MS, BA in Hospitality Business and Tourism from Michigan State University

Her research focuses on hospitality leadership, global tourism impacts, and organizational behavior in service industries. She has significantly contributed to hospitality education through:

• Establishing the first Center for Student Development and Engagement in the country
• Creating the Executive in Residence program with Hyatt and Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises
• Leading DePaul's hospitality program to become ranked #1 in Illinois

Her scholarly work has been recognized by multiple teaching awards and the prestigious Marriott Foundation grant. She previously taught at University of Hawaii-Manoa and Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business.
