Mirjam Lukasse is a Professor at OsloMet's Faculty of Health Sciences, affiliated with the Department of Nursing and Health Promotion. Her academic journey includes a nursing degree from the Netherlands, midwifery training in the UK, a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Tromsø (2011), and a postdoctoral fellowship at NTNU (2014), funded by the Norwegian Research Council (NFR). Her research focuses on violence against women, child maltreatment prevention, and midwifery practices, with a strong emphasis on maternal health equity and interdisciplinary collaboration.

She also explores innovative midwifery practices and clinical outcomes of labor induction protocols. Her research integrates mixed-methods approaches and emphasizes culturally adapted interventions.
