Miriam Ronzoni is a Professor of Political Theory at the University of Manchester since 2013, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences and Department of Politics. She previously held positions at the European University Institute, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Technical University of Darmstadt (2012-2014), where she led a Humboldt Foundation-funded research project on global institutional design. Her research focuses on contemporary normative theory, global justice, constructivism, and the intersections of ethics and institutional design. Ronzoni earned her doctorate from the University of Oxford in 2008.
Her work addresses meta-ethical questions (e.g., normative principles' justification) and applied issues like transnational justice in non-ideal conditions. Key contributions include analyses of global tax governance, labor standards, and EU democratic structures. She currently holds a Leverhulme Research Fellowship for a monograph on Constructing Justice.
Ronzoni’s research has been recognized through awards such as the Sofja Kovalevskaja Award (2012) and grants like the Leverhulme Fellowship (2018–2020). She supervises doctoral students and co-leads the Manchester Centre for Political Theory. Her scholarship bridges theoretical rigor with practical global challenges, emphasizing institutional frameworks for justice.
