Miriam Prys-Hansen

Prof. Miriam Prys-Hansen is a Lead Research Fellow and Head of the Research Program 'Global Orders and Foreign Policies' at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA). She holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford and has held academic roles at institutions like Helmut Schmidt University and the GIGA. Her research focuses on regional leading powers, global environmental policy, and international climate policy, with a regional emphasis on India and BRICS. She has led numerous projects, including the World Order Narratives of the Global South (WONAGO) and climate obstruction studies. Miriam teaches at Leuphana University on Global South politics and has advised on global security and foreign policy. She is affiliated with networks like the Climate Social Science Network and the Leibniz Research Network on Earth System Research.
