Dr. Miriam Oschkinat is a PostDoc researcher at the Leibniz Centre for General Linguistics (ZAS) in Berlin, Germany. She is affiliated with Research Area 1 'Laboratory Phonology' and is a member of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1412 project C02 'Variation in Situated Interaction', which investigates language users' knowledge of situational-functional variation.
Her research focuses on laboratory phonology, register variation, and the dynamics of language in situated interaction. She employs experimental and corpus-based methods to study phonetic and phonological variation in real-time communication contexts, contributing to the broader understanding of how social and situational factors shape linguistic form.
Within the CRC 1412, Dr. Oschkinat collaborates on interdisciplinary research that integrates insights from phonetics, sociolinguistics, and cognitive science. Her work in project C02 aims to model real-life language variation by examining how speakers adapt their phonological patterns across different communicative situations. She is part of the Laboratory Phonology research group at ZAS, which utilizes advanced laboratory techniques for speech production and perception studies.
Her current research is supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG) through the CRC 1412 grant. There is no indication of her supervising graduate students in the available information.
