Dr. Miriam Gauntlett is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES), Australian National University. Her research focuses on observational seismology, exploring crustal and mantle dynamics using seismic techniques. Currently, she collaborates on the WA Array project to study Western Australian lithosphere structure via seismic anisotropy and shear-wave splitting. Her PhD work investigated the Afro-Arabian Rift System (AARS) using tomography, receiver functions, and splitting, revealing complex crustal heterogeneity and simple mantle dynamics linked to magmatism and volcanic activity, such as the 2011 Nabro eruption.
Research interests include crust-mantle interactions, tectonic processes, and volcanic systems. She is affiliated with RSES and located at 236, Jaeger 2, ANU.
