Mirco Tonin

Mirco Tonin serves as Professor of Economic Policy at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and Director of the Institute for the Evaluation of Public Policies at the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK-IRVAPP) in Trento. His academic career includes previous positions as Full Professor at the University of Southampton and various consulting roles with the World Bank and International Labour Office (ILO).

Professor Tonin's research spans multiple domains including labor economics, public service motivation, experimental economics, behavioral economics, social capital, policy evaluation, public finance, and social preferences. His recent work examines diverse topics from labor market institutions to charitable giving, prosocial motivation, behavioral aspects related to car accidents, water consumption patterns, and educational effectiveness. His publications appear in leading journals across economics, public policy, and interdisciplinary fields.
