Dr. Mira Yaneva is a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology and Course Director for the British Psychological Society-accredited MSc Forensic Psychology program at Coventry University. She serves as the Research Ethics Lead for Psychology in the CAS School of Social Sciences & Humanities, providing training and guidance on ethical research practices. Dr. Yaneva holds a first-class degree in Psychology from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria, an MSc in Investigative Psychology (distinction) from the University of Huddersfield, and a PhD focusing on Human Kindness as an interpersonal trait opposing psychopathy.
Her research interests span Forensic, Investigative, and Positive Psychology, with a focus on offender rehabilitation, risk assessment, and developing psychometric tools. Notable work includes frameworks for strength-based interventions and the study of contract killers’ behavioral patterns. She is an Assistant Editor at the Journal of Investigative Psychology and Offender Profiling and has garnered international recognition for her work, including tool standardization across languages.
Dr. Yaneva teaches modules such as Offending Behaviour and the Criminal Justice System and coordinates dissertation projects for forensic psychology programs. Her research emphasizes positive psychology’s role in offender and non-offender populations, contributing to interventions and rehabilitation strategies.
