معرفی
Minjoung Kyoung is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Her research focuses on developing bioanalytical and biophysical tools to study the 4D (spatiotemporal) dynamics of cellular pathways, particularly the interplay between signaling and metabolic networks in cancer cells. She received her Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University (2008) and completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University and UC Berkeley (2012).
- Education: Ph.D. (Penn State), Postdoc (Stanford/UC Berkeley)
- Key Projects: Nano-reaction chamber for transient protein interactions; Lattice Light Sheet Microscope for 4D metabolic network mapping
Kyoung's cross-disciplinary lab integrates chemistry, biology, and physics to build microscopy systems, fabricate nanoscale chambers, and analyze biomolecular interactions. Her work has attracted significant NIH funding, including a 5-year R01 grant (2019). Publications span high-impact journals like eLife and Nature Protocols, with methodological innovations in vesicle fusion and super-resolution imaging.
Scientific awards include the 2007 Graduate Exhibition Award (Penn State), Dalalian Fellowship, and SPIE Research Excellence Travel Award. Lab alumni include Erin Kennedy (CBI Fellow), Tao Zhang (graduate student), and Keynon Bell (poster presenter). Collaborations with institutions like NIGMS, Janelia Research Campus, and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory highlight her national impact.
