Mingzhen Wei

Mingzhen Wei is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences and Geological and Petroleum Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and M.S. and B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Chinese institutions.

• Research Interests: Data mining, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), conformance control, machine learning applications, and geothermal energy optimization.
• Teaching: Reservoir simulation, natural gas engineering, and advanced applied reservoir engineering.
• Awards:
  • 2018 CEC Dean’s Scholar for AI integration in reservoir engineering.
• Collaborations: Active in cross-disciplinary projects including geothermal energy, CO₂ sequestration, and unconventional oil/gas development.
