Mingxin Huang

Mingxin Huang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of microstructure-property relationships in advanced steels and the development of lightweight materials for automotive applications, combining experimental and modeling approaches.

• B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2002, 2004)
• Ph.D. from Delft University of Technology (2008)

His work on twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) steels investigates deformation mechanisms from micro-pillars to bulk samples, challenging existing assumptions about twin contributions to flow stress. He has published over 50 journal papers in outlets like Acta Materialia and Scripta Materialia.
