Ming Yi

Ming Yi serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rice University, where her research centers on experimental condensed matter physics and emergent phenomena in quantum materials.

Her work employs multimodal experimental approaches including angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and x-ray scattering to probe single-particle and collective excitations, aiming to both understand and actively engineer quantum phases.

She directs the Yi Research Lab at Rice University, advancing fundamental microscopy techniques to uncover universal symmetries in correlated quantum matter through controlled manipulation of carrier doping and chemical pressure.
