Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State Universityمعرفی
Ming Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech's College of Science. His research focuses on synthetic organic chemistry, asymmetric catalysis with transition-metal complexes, and the total synthesis of bioactive natural products. He also explores nanoparticle-based vaccine technologies for opioid and nicotine addiction treatment.
Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry from Scripps Research (2008), followed by postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley.
Research interests span asymmetric catalysis, organic synthesis methodologies, and translational nanomedicine. His work bridges organic chemistry with biomedical applications, particularly in vaccine development and drug delivery systems.
Awards include the NIH R35 MIRA Award, NSF CAREER Award, and ACS Young Academic Investigator recognition. His research is supported by grants from NIH and NSF.
His lab develops novel nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery and adjuvant-enhanced vaccines. Collaborations focus on optimizing antigen presentation mechanisms and improving vaccine efficacy through nanotechnology.
